What is required prior to your appointment?
Complete the patient information paperwork including the health history and consent forms. Return these to your practitioner via email or bring the paperwork to your first appointment.
What do I wear to an osteopathic appointment?
We recommend you wear comfortable loose clothing that allows your body parts to be moved on the table. Please do not wear tight clothing, fitted attire or restrictive materials.
What to expect the day of your appointment?
Please wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing. We ask you to remove objects from your pockets, take off any jewelry, watches and belts prior to treatment. Arrive 5 minutes before your treatment time slot. Remove your shoes upon entering the treatment space and leave your socks on.
What should I expect during an initial assessment?
The initial assessment contains an interview and intake portion. This is an opportunity to discuss your concerns with the practitioner. Along with providing a detailed account of your health history. Once this is complete a static assessment will be done in both standing and seated, followed by dynamic assessment of anatomical structures in a variety of positions.
Is osteopathic treatment covered by insurance?
Most insurance plans will cover osteopathic manual therapy. Each policy is unique so check with your insurance provider for coverage policy. Currently osteopathic manual therapy is not covered by OHIP.
Does StillOsteo deal with Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVA) or Workers Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) claims?
No, we do not participate in MVA or WSIB claims.
What to expect during an initial small animal osteopathic treatment?
The initial assessment starts with an interview and intake portion of treatment. Here the owner can discuss their concerns and give the animal time to get used to the treatment environment. Observation and palpation are used to assess position and posture of the animal.
What should I bring to a small animal osteopathic treatment?
We encourage small animal pet owner’s to bring items that make your animal feel comfortable. Owners are welcome to bring treats, a special toy or lickpad to help keep the animal entertained during treatment.
What to expect for an equine osteopathic treatment?
The initial assessment starts with an interview and intake portion of treatment. Here the owner can discuss their horse’s health and present concerns. Observation and palpation are used to assess position and posture of the animal. Treatment is provided based on the practitioner’s findings along with considerations unique to each animal.
